PTA

We are proud of the work we do as an active, friendly and effective PTA at St John’s School. The school has a generous, caring and happy culture at its heart, and we are delighted to be part of that. We love collaborating with our children and the hardworking staff to make a positive difference and give them support.

The PTA’s role is to fundraise towards important extras that can’t be covered by the school’s budget or standard funding. We work with the staff and children themselves to find out what their requirements and wants are to enhance school life for all. We then raise money by organising events and fun activities such as non-uniform days, tuck shops, secret shops, fairs, discos, quizzes, balls for the grown-ups and much more. Often this includes the local community and businesses, who are always very generous to our cause.

As a result the children love to get involved and we also receive huge generosity from parents, friends and staff from St John’s in the form of donations or helping out.

The relationship between parents and teachers is what makes our PTA so successful. Our members give their time voluntarily and help in any way they can. We meet once a month, which is when ideas and plans are made. We then all pitch in where possible to make the events happen.

The PTA is non-exclusive, which means we are open to all parents, grandparents and carers who have children at St John’s and would like to help out. We appreciate that time is precious, so feel free to only commit what you can – everyone’s contribution is hugely appreciated.

Find us on Facebook to find out more about our recent events and how we’ve spent raised funds.

If you’d like to provide sponsorship, help out or join the St John’s School PTA, please contact the school office for more details.
