We recently submitted our final application for the Artsmark Award and are proud to announce that the school has been awarded an Artsmark Silver Award.
Please read the following comment about our submission:
It is exciting to see your arts provision emerging so positively despite the constraints imposed by the pandemic. While you have seen children's arts learning and experiences curtailed during lockdowns, you have carefully adapted to the lost learning time, revisiting key skills to ensure that pupils have strong foundations in place. You have updated your schemes of work and, with clear teaching sequences and skills progression in place, have noted improved progress in Art, Music and Dance. You have supported staff through INSET days on Art and through training provided by your Music Hub, developing staff knowledge and confidence. Your links with Ryburn Valley High are giving you access to arts expertise, and it will be valuable to develop these and other collaborations with arts and cultural organisations and with creative practitioners as you move forward.
Congratulations on your Artsmark Silver Award!
Thank you to Mr Dewick who led us through process and to all the staff, children, parents and governors who contributed. We are very proud to have achieved Artsmark silver.
