Class 4 began their new topic this week (The Stone Age). Scraping through layers of history, they unearthed many archaeological artefacts. They children worked like professional archaeologists, carefully scraping away each layer and recording their finds. These included Roman coins which they recognised from our topic last term.

Using brushes to gently remove the top layer.

Working as a team to uncover and record findings.

The whole Class in action!

Lurking beneath the layers of history was a particularly interesting find. The children in Class 4 uncovered several, smelly brown, sausage-like deposits which gave them clues to the Stone Age diet.

A disturbing discovery lay at the bottom!

Some brave children really got to grips with history today.

Excitement or disgust?

They discovered that in the Stone Age, humans relied mainly of fruits, seeds and nuts.
