This afternoon, in our work, we wrote a letter to Lord Russel (The Prime Minister in 1847) to tell him the reasons why children should be treated well.

In Victorian times children were often punished in terrible ways, such as kneeling on hot pipes or being hit with a cane. They may even be whipped by their employer.
