Humanities

As part of our Victorian topic this term, we travelled back in time to the Victorian period for a one-off spectacular day! Both children and adults dressed up in very authentic costumes, ranging from street children, chimney sweeps and maids to an extremely strict school teacher.

As well as wearing fantastic costumes, pupils were given the opportunity to take part in a range of Victorian-themed activities throughout the whole day. Activities included: making pomanders; playing with Victorian toys, writing calligraphy using ink, investigating Victorian artefacts; using an original Victorian mangle to wash clothes, decorating bowls with decoupage art and finally, attending a realistic Victorian school room.

What a great day!
